What the Bergen Card unlocks
The biggest item is free public transport: with the Bergen Card you travel free in Zone A on the Skyss bus and the light rail (Bybanen), including Line 1 to and from Flesland Airport (more on this on the Public transport page); regional boats and ferries to Askøy and Nordhordland are not included. On top of that comes free or discounted admission to museums and sights, along with discounts on tours, culture, restaurants and car parks.
Included attractions & discounts
Whether an attraction is free or discounted depends on the individual operator and the season. A selection:
| Attraction | What the card offers |
|---|---|
| City of Bergen museums | Free or discounted admission to municipal museums and collections |
| Bryggen | UNESCO World Heritage wharf district, the starting point for tours and walks |
| Akvariet Bergen | Aquarium at Nordnes, discount for cardholders |
| Fløibanen | Funicular up Bergen's local mountain Fløyen, discount available |
| Ulriken | Cable car up the city's highest peak, discount depending on the operator |
| Fjord & sightseeing tours | Discounts on fjord cruises and city tours around Bergen |
Is it worth it?
The free public transport alone carries a lot: a 24-hour ticket costs from 400 NOK (adults), and the airport link on the light rail plus a few rides and one or two admissions soon make back the price. If you stay longer, the 48, 72 or 96-hour cards work out cheaper per day.
Which benefits are currently free or discounted is best checked with the operator before your visit. The card's validity starts with first use.
